Book Signing and space-themed activities for children.
Bring the whole family to the Challenger Learning Center on September 16th for a fun event for all ages! Bestselling author Brad Meltzer will be joining us to discuss his new book, I AM NEIL ARMSTRONG, and to share the fascinating science of space travel with children! There will be a presentation, an opportunity for Q&A, followed by fun space-themed activities for children, such as a crater drop, Oreo cookie moon phases, and interactive exhibits on space suits!
This event also includes a fun opportunity for children to share their original art through an art contest! Children ages 8 and under can submit an original piece on the theme “Journey to Mars.” Five winners will receive a photo with Meltzer in “Mission Control,” a signed book and Challenger Center passes. Submissions are due by September 13th, and can be dropped off at the Challenger Learning Center, or e-mailed to Samantha Reaves at sreaves@challengertlh.com.

PUBLIC PARKING
The Kleman Parking Garage is the closest public parking garage to the Challenger Learning Center (CLC). It is adjacent to the CLC on Kleman Plaza. Entrances to the Kleman Parking Garage are located on South Duval and South Bronough Streets. The rates are follows:
Additional parking is available at metered street spots and other public lots located throughout downtown Tallahassee.
Buses: Buses should pull into the bus ramp on College Ave. Enter the bus ramp by traveling South on Bronough St. and turning left onto College Ave. The bus ramp will be on the immediate right. The bus ramp is for drop off and pick up only. Parking is available at the Leon County Civic Center (free for Leon County Schools; $35 for all other buses), the Governor’s Square Mall, or in the free parking lot at the corner of Gaines Street and Duval Street.
