Inspirational Gospel Concert: The Capital Chordsmen

Inspirational Gospel Concert: The Capital Chordsmen

Presented by The Tallahassee Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society at St Luke's Episcopal Church

The award-winning Capital Chordsmen Barbershop Harmony Chorus, directed by Byron Poore, and their quartets will perform a newly revamped one-hour program of gospel and inspirational music relating to the theme “We Have an Anchor” at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 4362 Lafayette St., Marianna , FL 32446 on Sunday, Sep 9 at 4:00 pm. The concert is free and open to the public. No reservations needed.  The classic barbershop style, (4 part, acapella arrangements) stirs the heart and soul, gets spirit moving, and has you singing silently along with the songs you know.

Among other songs, the one-hour concert will include Down to the River to Pray, I’m Feeling Fine, When I Lift Up My Head, Ride the Chariot, Your First Day in Heaven, No More Sorrow, and many other familiar psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, sung in the Barbershop Harmony Style. The family-oriented concert also features a rousing audience sing-along.

A voluntary love offering will be collected to help cover expenses and support the Carraway-Anton Barbershop Music Scholarship fund for students. (850) 570-3148. www.capitalchordsmen.org.
