An Evening of Music & Dance

An Evening of Music & Dance

Presented by The Tallahassee Ballet at Opperman Music Hall - Florida State University

Artistic Director Tyrone Brooks is a firm believer in starting things off with a bang. The Tallahassee Ballet's 2018-2019 Season Opener will be no exception. An Evening of Music & Dance will be performed September 7 and 9 at FSU's Opperman Music Hall.
This ambitious production combines the talents of FSU’s College of Music, TTB dancers, and a diverse group of choreographers. FSU has played a collaborative role in this annual production since its inception. Under the direction of Deloise Lima, FSU’s prestigious College of Music accompanies TTB’s dancers with live chamber music, including musical interludes.
This year’s composers include Lili Boulanger, Claude Debussy, and Germaine Tailleferre – artfully combining classical and contemporary pieces in a sequence of works. Choreographers Katy E. Cashin, Kathryn Karrh Cashin, Meagan Helman and Trent D. Williams, Jr., have set distinctive styles of choreography on TTB dancers for this performance.
