Faculty Chamber Recital - "A Poet's Love"

Presented by Florida State University College of Music at Opperman Music Hall - Florida State University

The FSU College of Music is pleased to welcome audiences to the first performance of the 2018-2019 University Musical Associates concert season. On Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. in Opperman Music Hall, faculty members Heidi Louise Williams (piano), Greg Sauer (cello), Shannon Thomas (violin), and Evan Jones (baritone) will present "A Poet's Love," works by Robert Schumann, Frédéric Chopin, and Felix Mendelssohn.

A pre-concert lecture will be offered by Dr. Douglass Seaton, the Warren D. Allen Professor of Music, one hour prior to curtain (6:30 p.m.) in Lindsay Recital Hall.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Robert Schumann, Frédéric Chopin, and Felix Mendelssohn were among the first great proclaimers of "a new poetic age" in music. This evening's concert, entitled "A Poet's Love," features these composers’ most beloved and celebrated chamber works, birthed within the same golden decade of the Romantic Era.
