Robert Buccellato is the author of Florida Governors Lasting Legacies, Jimmy Carter in Plains: The Presidential Hometown, and Finding Dan McCarty. He was the historian for the Clerk of Courts for Leon County, a position created for him, between 2015-2017. Robert lives in Tallahassee with his wife Stephanie and their sons. Buccellato’s most recent book, Finding Dan McCarty is a story about two very different men on similar journeys of personal and professional discovery. On the one hand is a historian reaching out to the last members of this distant moment in Florida’s history to understand the life of a deceased politician, long hidden under a cloak of mystery. The other is a fallen Governor, who left behind in his wake a lasting legacy of achievement. A story which paints vivid portraits of McCarty’s many enemies, allies, and the historic events that formed the Governor’s thrilling brief life.

Kent Thompson will be signing copies of his latest books in the Marine Patrol Mystery Series as well as North Florida Roads with Stories on the Side and Old Time Tallahassee from A to Z. Thompson was raised in Tallahassee and grew up loving the Forgotten Coast. After a stint in the Marine Corps he became a Florida Marine Patrol Officer. Thirty-six years later he retired as a Major with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission. He is the author of several books including two cookbooks and Remembering Florida’s Forgotten Coast and The History of Florida’s Fishers and Enforcers.
