Join us as we celebrate all things Baroque in this opening concert!
What better way to begin our 31st season than with two of Baroque’s best-loved choral works! We mean, of course, Bach’s stunning Magnificat in D major and Handel’s timeless Messiah. Bach’s setting of the Latin text of the story of the Virgin Mary as told by the Gospel of St. Luke is imbued with a sense of exultation, with every note designed to embellish the words and passages that challenge the technical mastery of the singers. The Christmas portion, as well as other selections from Handel’s Messiah, perfectly round out the program, culminating with the great Hallelujah chorus. Begin your holiday season with exultation!
Our Community Partner for this concert is Tallahassee Senior Center. Members from the Senior Center and its foundation will be in the lobby of the concert hall to visit with patrons, tell them about the Senior Center’s holiday fundraiser, and help with ushering duties.
