Leon High Choral Department presents Les Miserables

Leon High Choral Department presents Les Miserables

Presented by Leon Performing Arts at Leon High School

Les Misérables is about the resilience of the human spirit and the relationships that strengthen it.  In the center of the plot are students who start a revolution. More specifically, relationships between several well-known characters, such as reformed convict, Jean Valjean, and the doggedly obsessive Inspector Javert, who follows him across time and country are fundamental to plot development.

Les Mis isn’t the show that comes to mind when you think “high school musical.” It is, however, the show that students are working on this summer. Rehearsals began June 11th this year, as did the work of the hive of on-site volunteers that designs and sews costumes, puts together head pieces and wigs, designs and builds the sets…a tech team comes together, the pit orchestra is assembled and, the performances begin.  In a short month, a group of students from different area schools brings a Broadway musical to life from bare bones to full-on quality entertainment.
