Countless times we’ve been stuck waiting, whether in a doctor’s office, auto repair garage, coffee shop, auditorium, conference, or hospital. Lawson captures the essence of the art of patiently waiting, of marking time, whether on a smart phone, immersed in a magazine or book, staring into space, or dozing in a chair. Compulsively over the years, whenever she had to wait somewhere, Lawson marked time by drawing those in the room around her. If you were in a waiting room in and around Tallahassee, she may have drawn you.  Drop by the downtown library and peer into the second floor glass cases to see if you recognize faces.
