Teens Will Find Fun at Knott House Summer Poetry Workshops
The Knott family home was a place of learning, music, and poetry. Known for her poetry, Luella Knott also wrote lyrics and composed many pieces of music. Not only did she homeschool her children, her journal recounts the family “musicales” held weekly in the parlor. The Knott House Summer Poetry Workshops carry on this tradition. Full of creative activities, the workshops help young people refine writing skills, read and evaluate poetry by respected authors, and find their own voice as a poet. Participants share their work with family and friends during an evening poetry reading that includes a well-known local poet.
