George Gray CD Release Concert

Presented by Black Dog on the Square at Black Dog on the Square

Black Dog on the Square is delighted to host local singer/songwriter George Gray as he hosts a concert to celebrate his new CD, "Why Buy the Cow?"

Tallahassee singer-songwriter George Gray has performed at area folk festivals, such as The Will McLean Music Festival in Brooksville FL, and Monticello’s Southern Music Rising, and is a favorite at local house concerts. He sings original tunes that are sometimes thought provoking and often humorous. His subjects range from obscure history events like Surrender, (about Robert E Lee and various events of his life) to humorous, You Can Get Paid for That, (about a country boy moving to the big city and learning he can sell his bodily fluids) to serious, Pane of Glass, (about visiting a loved one in jail.)

Several years ago, he woke up from a dream with a complete new song in his head and decided he could probably do that awake as well. He’s been writing and sharing his own songs ever since.

Gray's new CD, "Why Buy the Cow" is a collection of humorous songs he wrote over the last few years. Kayla Williams, Mike Palecki and Danny Goddard all provide stellar accompaniment on different songs and Pete Winter did his usual ace job of mixing and mastering.
