A Soldier's Life: Military Living History Timeline

A Soldier's Life: Military Living History Timeline

Presented by Thomasville History Center at Thomasville History Center

In honor of Memorial Day, the Thomasville History Center invites you to attend the second presentation of, “A Soldier’s Life.” Many will remember the program presented on the grounds of the History Center in September 2017, which focused on the Civil War experiences of soldiers in the Union and Confederate forces. On Saturday, May 19 from 2pm-5pm, living historians will bring to life history’s heroes from America’s foreign and domestic conflicts including the Seminole Wars, the Civil War, World War I, World War II, and the Korean Conflict. Representatives from the local chapter of the American Legion and additional veteran’s organizations will provide information regarding the experiences of soldiers throughout history.

Attendees are encouraged to interact with these living historians and ask them questions about the experiences of soldiers in each conflict. This program is presented free of charge and is open to all. The History Center’s historic buildings and the exhibits in the Flowers-Roberts House will also be open for exploration.
