Join the Florida Humanities Council and the Florida Historic Capitol Museum on April 11th for a talk and book signing with Jeff Klinkenberg, this year's winner of the Florida Humanities Council's prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for Writing and a 2018 Florida Folk Heritage Award. His topic: "The Most Interesting Floridians I Have Known“ and there are many, such as Marjory Stoneman Douglas, known as The Grand Dame of the Everglades. Jeff began experiencing Florida at an early age, learning its lore and meeting its characters. His journalism career spanned nearly four decades, and he has published six books. Reception at 5:30 PM; talk will begin at 6:00 PM with the book signing to immediately follow. Funding for this program was provided through a grant from the Florida Humanities Council with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Florida Historic Capitol Museum

The Historic Capitol is located in the Capitol Complex, at the intersection of Apalachee Parkway and South Monroe Street. Although the museum does not have dedicated parking, there are several parking lots in the area. There is a large public parking garage in Kleman Plaza, close to the Capitol Complex. When the legislature is in session, parking can be especially challenging. Spaces for visitors with disabilities are located on west side of the House Office Building in the north side loading zone.
