Choral ensemble camp will help you advance your solo performance technique as well as develop your choral skills through different sized ensembles, as well as solo technique work and daily classes that focus on sight reading, theory, diction.
At our Choral Ensemble Camp, campers have the ability to work on both. Campers study with FSU faculty in a large mixed choir, a women’s or men’s choir, and a variety of small ensembles designed to provide ensemble experience with personal attention. Campers will take two daily elective classes allowing them to explore something new such as diction, conducting, or choral theory. All students will also take part in a music-theatre style finale performance - a dancing and singing extravaganza that concludes the Friday evening concert! A Solo Recital and an elite Chamber Choir are also available to a limited number of campers by audition.
Daily Classes focus on sight reading, theory, diction and repertoire. The subjects taught in these classes give students a great head start if they are planning to apply for a collegiate music program. All students also participate in small ensembles. Small Ensemble assignments are done by the instructors and are based on various criteria including voice parts, gender, age, number of years at camp, and others.
