Sara McFerrin, a native of Alabama, lives in Apalachicola, Florida, with her husband of 58 years. She has been a weekly newspaper columnist as well as a contributor of short stories to Senior Living. The writing bug struck, and she set to work on a novel of Southern fiction, Whistlin’ Stardust, a semi-autobiographical story of life in Alabama in the early 1950s. Some of the characters from this first novel took on lives of their own, and are the headliners in the Curiosity Club cozy mysteries.

The first of the series, titled Southern Ladies’ Curiosity Club, is about Bessie Pearl Pennycutt, whose marriage into the Campbell family presents lessons in chickenology, digging for long lost confederate treasure, and trips across state lines in search of a missing man who is supposedly responsible for the corpse that Deputy Bobby Carl Rodgers found in the woods while answering nature’s call.
Romance, mystery, humor, and adventure are part of Bessie’s new life as the Southern Ladies’ Curiosity Club takes root with a membership of four all lovable, strong, charming, determined women of the 1950s.
