Politics and culture get a well deserved comic slap with the second coming of GOP’s version of Jesus, singing and dancing Republican nominee hopefuls, epic battles with the dark lord of Orlando: all this and more!
Jedi warriors, knuckle-dragging Neanderthals, bed bugs and posturing politicians all come in for some light-saber slashing humor in the Mickee Faust’s Club’s spring cabaret, “May the Faust Be With You.” The show opens Friday, March 18th at 8pm at the Mickee Faust Clubhouse, 623 McDonnell Drive in Railroad Square. Additional shows are March 19, and 24-26th. The house band, Eclectic Acoustic, will be playing in the back yard before and after the show.
Mickee Faust, the cigar-puffing, beer-guzzling, rat alter-ego of performer Terry Galloway, promises this show will make you forget what’s going on in the world beyond Faustlandia:
“It’s like that Star Wars prequel where the character, Pad Thai, or whatever her name is, said: ‘So this is how liberty dies…with thunderous applause!’ Uh, wait a minute. How ‘bout, ‘I’ve got a bad feeling about this.’ No, that’s not it. Ah, screw it. This show is gonna make you laugh. It’ll knock your socks off!”
Socks and other garments are likely to be flying on the Faust stage. The troupe, which writes most of its own material, strips everything down to its naked truth -- from professional dress codes to open carry as the latest fashion accessory.
Tickets to the cabaret are available through the website (www.mickeefaust.com). The Friday and Saturday shows are $15 general admission/$10 students, retirees, and people with disabilities. The show on Thursday, March 24th, is five dollars off the ticket price.
