The Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park invites you to join us for the annual Great Backyard Bird Count. Launched in 1998 by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and National Audubon Society, the Great Backyard Bird Count was the first online citizen-science project to collect data on wild birds. On Saturday, February 17th, Park Rangers and local birding experts will assist participants as we gather data and tally the numbers and kinds of birds we see in the park. Be sure to wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, and bring your binoculars!
The program is free with paid park admission.
