COCA Conversations: Careers In & Through Dance will be held on February 26, 2018 from 7:00 pm-9:00 pm at COCA (816 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32301)
Our panelists represent a plethora of career possibilities and opportunities to which dancers can aspire: teaching artists; educators; performers/choreographers in concert and commercial dance settings; directors, writers, arts administrators, entrepreneurs, video artists, somatic educators, fitness/wellness coaches, recreational professionals, etc..
The first panel features local, regional, and nationally recognized former and dancers and choreographers: Mary Roberts, Choreographer, Dancer, Dance Educator; Theresa Shotwell, Dance Fitness Specialist, Author, Retired Professor and Administrator; David Barrow Wiley, Head of Set Operations & Courtesy Faculty at FSU; Tiffany Rhynard, filmmaker, choreographer, dancer, and educator; V. Casey Dozier, PhD, NCC, Program Director of the Florida State University Instruction, Research, and Evaluation department in the Career Center and Teaching Faculty in the Educational Psychology and Learning Systems Department; and Megan O’Neill, COCA Community Engagement Coordinator.
Each conversation will include a participatory activity that will ground/personalize the discussion. The thematic throughline will be maintained by moderators Afua Hall and Laura Page Kyber.
