Tallahassee Hispanic Theater presents the Tallahassee premiere of "Forever Yours, Julita", a play written by the award-winning, Puerto Rican playwright Roberto Ramos-Perea.

After a successful initial run at the Monticello Opera House, the Tallahassee Hispanic Theater will present encore performances of the play, Forever Yours, Julita, at Schnittman Hall at Railroad Square at 8pm on January 25-27, 2018.

The play takes place from 1914-1942 in Puerto Rico. When the play begins, Julia is 19. She has just written her first book of poetry and is seeking recognition. That night she shows up, uninvited, to a party at the home of a well-known poet, Luis, who is celebrating a poetry award which he has just received In an unforgettable first encounter, Julia gives him a copy of her book of poetry to obtain his opinion. A no-holds-barred relationship begins between them which will last over 30 years. Over the course of their relationship, Julia must balance her addictions as well as her competing roles as Luis' disciple, lover, political enemy, and rival.

This explosive drama deals with important issues of artistic integrity, male/female roles in Latin American culture, and Puerto Rico's relationship with the United States.

Performances will take place Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, January 25-27, at 8pm at the Schnittman Hall at Railroad Square, 623 McDonnell Drive, inside Railroad Square Art Park, Tallahassee.
