Last of the First: Our Indigenous People's Struggle for Survival

Last of the First: Our Indigenous People's Struggle for Survival

Presented by Carrabelle History Museum at Carrabelle History Museum

Learn about the intense wars involving Florida's native peoples during the 1800s, and the shameful time in our nation's history when our Indian population was banished from their home lands and sent to reservations. Our presenters, historians Joe Knetsch and Christopher Kimball, have authored books on the Seminole Wars and have created the Seminole War Heritage Trail listing battle sites statewide. Christopher Kimball is also a living history presenter and will be bringing maps and examples of colorful clothing worn by our early Native Americans.

The program will be at the Franklin County Senior Center in Carrabelle at 201 NW Avenue F on March 19 from 10- 12:30pm.  FREE ADMISSION. For more information call 850 697-2141 or go to carrabellehistorymuseum.org.
