As part of the FAMU Artist in Bloom Festival, the Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery presents Goin' Down South: An Exhibition of Wood Carvings by LaVon Van Williams, Jr.

Join us on a trip down south in this one-man art exhibition Friday, February 16 for the opening reception. Goin Down South will feature Williams' soulful wood carved sculptures with depictions showing everything from the energy of southern juke joints to everyday people.  This bold collection of "urban folk art" will speak to your soul and inspire your heart.

Meet the artist! Attendees of this opening reception will have a chance to meet LaVon Van Williams, Jr. Original sculptures by Williams will be for sale as well at the opening.

Thursday, February 15 at 2:00 p.m., LaVon Van Williams will do a woodcarving demonstration at the FAMU Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Center, room 107, West wing.

This demonstration is free and open to the public.
