The FSU College of Motion Picture Arts presents a fun selection of student films, from both undergraduate and graduate students.
At this month's Brouhaha film festival, twelve schools were represented, including Ringling College of Art and Design, the University of Central Florida, Full Sail University, Daytona State College, Rollins College, Stetson University and FIRST Institute. Out of all those who entered films considered for screening, Florida State University placed the most: 17 films in all.
And, unless you were under living a rock this past year, you know that the film, “Moonlight,” from Florida State University graduate Barry Jenkins and his crew of FSU Film School alumni, won a total of 3 Oscars inluding Best Picture. (Five FSU graduates earned Oscar nominations for the project — a first for the Film School.)
So FSU and films are kind of a thing now.
Come down to Blue Tavern and enjoy some short films from recent FSU film school projects: The lineup is a fun selection of student films, from both undergraduate and graduate students. Themes include comedy, drama, live-action and animation.
Admission is free; the popcorn will set you back a mere buck.
