Our conversation will include identification, properties, preparations, recipes, and connection! Share your favorite recipe and learn new ways to prepare them in your home. Samples provided. We will also discuss the historic uses of goldenrod in various cultures, as well as its contributions to the ancient study of herbalism.
People have been using plants as medicine for much of recorded history, dating back to the Paleolithic age. Herbalism has played a major role in human history, having been used by ancient Egyptian, Greek, and Chinese cultures, and it is still being practiced today. Understanding plants and their cultural significance allows us to better maintain our bodies and our health.
Currently there are 140 varieties of Goldenrod in the world, and each variety has various health benefits. Goldenrod has been historically used as a folk remedy due to it's anti-fungal, diuretic, diaphoretic, anti-inflammatory, expectorant, astringent, antiseptic, and carminative properties. The plant is also beneficial to the kidneys, urinary track, skin, allergies, and cardiovascular system. Learn how you can reap the benefits of such an extraordinary and historically significant herb!
