Kermit Marlin Brown’s My Life in North Florida: 12 Short Reads contains delightful autobiographical stories that take place along the rivers, lakes, and creeks across North Florida from Apalachicola to Tallahassee, Gainesville, and Jacksonville. They start in the mid-20th century with a nostalgic look at a community and a time gone by. Each story ends with a haiku poem and is illustrated with black and white photos. Brown is a native Floridian and is retired from a career in Florida Museums – Museum of Natural History and Museum of Florida.

Kent Thompson will be signing copies of his latest books North Florida Roads with Stories on the Side and Old Time Tallahassee from A to Z and Chasing Smoke: A Bucket List of the South’s Best Barbecue. Thompson was raised in Tallahassee and grew up loving the Forgotten Coast. After a stint in the Marine Corps he became a Florida Marine Patrol Officer. Thirty-six years later he retired as a Major with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission. He is the author of several books including, Remembering Florida’s Forgotten Coast and The History of Florida’s Fishers and Enforcers.
