Tallahassee - A City of Makers -Makers Town Hall

Tallahassee - A City of Makers -Makers Town Hall

Presented by Making Awesome, Inc. at TCC Center for Innovation

Across the country and throughout the world, the maker movement is encouraging people to learn new skills, and turn hobbies into successful businesses.  Tallahassee is a City of Makers and a City of Startups.

As part of Tallahassee StartupWeek, makers, and the organizations which support them, are gathering for a town hall meeting at the TCC Downtown innovation Center.  This is an opportunity to meet other makers, celebrate the things that make Tallahassee a great place to be a maker, and identify things that we might improve to support making and makers.

Whether you make some sort of futuristic electronic device, a handcrafted piece of art, or a loaf of really outstanding bread, you’re a maker, and this town hall if for you.

The event will feature several short presentations from successful local makers, but mainly will focus on each of the attendees introducing themselves, and answering three questions:

  1. What do you make?
  2. What one local resource helps you be successful as a maker?
  3. What one thing is missing from Tallahassee that would help advance Tallahassee as a City of Makers.

If you’re a maker, or part of an organization that supports or promotes local makers, this is an event you shouldn’t miss.
