Registration is open for the Spanish Missions in Florida and the Borderlands Conference to be offered in the Monticello Opera House, 185 west Washington Street (Courthouse Circle) in Monticello, FL. Scholars will talk on the study of Missions that once spread over northern Florida to serve the Timucuan and Apalachee Tribes then extended westward to California.
Each presentation will offer time for audience questions.
Exhibits explaining the Mission Period will be open Thursday and Friday.
 
On Saturday an independent group tour of Mission San Luis in Tallahassee will be led by Dr. Rochelle Marrinan, Chair of Anthropology, Florida State University.

Saturday Tour is independent - meet at Opera House at 9am to convoy to Mission San Luis on Tennessee Street (Route 90) in Tallahassee for tour to begin at 10:00 AM - Led by Dr. Rochelle Marrinan. San Luis fee in $5.00 per person.

Parking Info

There is plenty of street parking around the building on all sides. There is also a large city lot across from the courthouse. After hours (after 5 pm) the Monticello News allows us to make use of their lot. Street parking around the back of the building is also available.
