You are invited to an informational interest meeting for how you and others can become involved in designing and leading collaborative artmaking workshops based around Waging Peace.
We want to extend an invitation to all interested creatives to participate in a very exciting artistic community collaboration. The Plant Arts Center will be hosting upcoming collaborative artmaking workshops in conjunction with The Museum of Fine Art's 2018 Waging Peace Exhibition, the city of Tallahassee, and Leon County Schools. There will be an informational interest meeting at The Plant on Tuesday, September 12 at 4pm for how you and others can become involved in designing and leading the workshops.
The theme Waging Peace involves active engagement and energy expended toward the goal of peace. The intent is to challenge people to strive towards a balanced culture and environment through art actions.
Through a series of artmaking workshops, our hope is to bring together formal and informal institutions to meet the themes of generating energy and action toward peace. We are inviting community creatives (groups, organizations, and individuals) to design, lead, and participate in the workshops creating works to be exhibited in May 2018.
Definition of Art for purposes of the Waging Peace Project at The Plant:
Art is multidisciplinary and includes the visual arts, music, dance, theater, film, poetry, literature, spoken word performances, landscape or horticultural arts, or other creative actions.
