The Blessing of Animals originated in the thirteenth century in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and the environment, who believed that all animals should be treated with dignity and respect.

The event features:

Individual blessings of pets
~ Free blessing certificates
~ Free blessing photos (to be posted on social media)
Crafts for children
Archery & living history
Animal organization booths
~ Information & pet adoptions
~ Marine animal touch tank exhibit
by FSU Sea–to–See Program
~ Reptile program (11:30-Noon)
by St. Francis Wildlife Association
~ Scent detection dog demonstrations (11 am & 1 pm)
El Criollo Grill food truck

Animals must be on leashes or in carriers.

Please bring pet food & supply donations for area animal shelters.
