Teams and solo performers compete for prizes & bragging rights by lip syncing along to favorite songs! Featuring local celebrity judges, amazing silent auction packages, bake sale, & more. Email battlesoutheast@gmail.com by March 15 to enter.
Maybe you've seen celebs "Lip Sync Battle" on Jimmy Fallon, but he isn’t the only star hosting one. Tallahassee's own Southeast Review, the national and international literary magazine run by graduate students at Florida State University, will hold a Lip Sync Battle on March 22 at the Warehouse at 8:00 p.m. (doors open 7:30) to raise funds to support the journal. This benefit event will be hosted by Lady Miss Kim McShane.
Sign ups for solo artists/team performers are now open to the community! The only prerequisite? A killer song choice and attitude. Performance spots are limited, so sign up ASAP for the opportunity to compete for an enthusiastic audience including celebrity judges (and FSU English Department faculty) Skip Horack, David Kirby, and Deborah Coxwell-Teague.
When you register, you'll be asked to pay a small fee to guarantee that you will perform the night of the event. 100% of all funds raised, including registration fees, benefit The Southeast Review. Registrations, song choices, and names of all teams members are due by March 15.
Or if you’re not into the Lip Sync scene (though how could you not be?) come out just for the Silent Auction, same time/place. Items up for auction include: football party with Diane Roberts, cigar-box guitar handmade by James Kimbrell, BBQ tutorial from Kerry James Evans, Literary Luminary candles, and more. There will also be a delectable Bake Sale ($1 and $2 treats -- bring cash).
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to support faculty and student writers in Tallahassee. To enter the Lip Sync Battle as a performing team, email battlesoutheast@gmail.com and get registered, then sync your heart out!
Admission non-performers: $10
