Gracie Curran & Her Highfalutin Band

Gracie Curran & Her Highfalutin Band

at Bradfordville Blues Club

Born and raised in a small town on the edge of Boston, MA, Gracie began singing in church with her mother. There was always music in her house and Gracie found a love of Blues and Soul at a young age, mostly by picking through her Dad's record collection. Influenced by singers such as Etta James, Ray Charles, Big Mama Thornton, Sharon Jones, and Billie Holiday, she quickly found her own sound and voice.

In 2010, Gracie Curran & The High Falutin' band played their first show to a sold out house in Boston, and in the years that followed, amassed a tremendous following, regularly packing venues throughout New England. In 2012, the band won the Boston Blues Challenge, and began recording their debut album with Producer Richard Rosenblatt, and featured the world famous Roomful of Blues Horn section and Bruce Bears on Keys. By 2013, the band was touring, releasing "Proof of Love" , while competing in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. The album was met with glowing reviews from around the world and received heavy radio play, eventually earning the band a Best New Artist nomination for the 2014 WC Handy Blues Music Awards. In addition to the BMA nod, the band also received Boston Music Award and New England Music Award nominations for Blues Band of the Year. In January of 2015, Gracie relocated to Memphis, TN to tour full time, subsequently earning yet another Boston Music Award nomination, and winning the award for Blues Artist of the Year.

In the past two years, Gracie has rocked houses all across the country, becoming a crowd favorite, known for not only her amazing voice, but her comedic stage banter and hugely entertaining live show. With appearances at The White Mountain Boogie & Blues in Thornton, NH, The Heritage Blues Festiival in Wheeling, WV, The North River Blues Fest in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Tall City Blues Fest in Midland, TX, Tampa Bay Blues Festival in Tampa, FL, regularly appearing at venues such as Buddy Guy's Legends in Chicago, IL, Bradfordville Blues Club in Tallahassee, FL, and as a house band at The famed Rum Boogie Cafe on legendary Beale Street in Memphis, TN, the band is looking forward to a busy 2017. Gracie is currently working on her long awaited and anticipated sophomore album with Producer and Guitar phenom, Damon Fowler, and will be joined by a host of special guests. The album is expected to be released by Spring of 2017.
