Sinfonia Allegro is the first Tallahassee Homeschool String Orchestra audition-only string orchestra for intermediate players who are typically in private lessons. Auditions are held each fall and include (1) scales and arpeggios, (2) sight-reading, (3) excerpts from the semester repertoire, and (4) an optional prepared solo. Students in Sinfonia Allegro use the Essential Elements for Strings Book 2 and additional orchestral pieces and arrangements. Participation in Sinfonia Allegro introduces students to four-part ensemble playing while reinforcing techniques such as scales, articulation, and intonation.
