VGO, (Phillip Terry) is a multi-instrumentalist with deep roots in traditional acoustic music. His interest in the historical aspects of music and led him down the path of learning the classic blues and era music of the Civil War. A veteran of the 97th Regimental String Band, he performed with the Civil War string band all over the United States. Playing Guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin and bones, he was in important part of this band that played Irish Chanties, Minstrel Tunes and songs from the era of Stephan Collins Foster. VGO has won numerous awards at the Florida Old Time Music Championships, earning ribbons in harmonica, bass, Rhythm Instrument, Old Time Singing, autoharp,dobro, mandolin and flat pick guitar, Old Time Senior Banjo. He is recognized as an accomplished blues and old time musician and continues to perform and do "historic impressions" for museums and historic events.
