Join us on Friday, February 3, 2017 for an exciting historical talk by Tallahassee Historical Society President Dave Lang!
Attendees will re-create in pictures the route taken by Tallahassee's 'Street Railroad' that began at the Depot on Railroad Avenue, and made its way on rails down the middle of Tallahassee streets, turning on Gaines Street, and eventually making its way to Monroe Street, with the final stop being 'Long's Grove' (vicinity of Monroe Street and Brevard Street).
Don't miss this unique chance to learn how people lived during the late 1800's while recreating the sights and experiencing the activities that prior residents might've enjoyed on the now defunct mule-driven trolley.
This free event is associated with the "Picture Tallahassee" exhibit of Alvan S. Harper photographs, on display at INIE until February 28, 2017.
Participants should gather at the Institute for Nonprofit Innovation and Excellence (3rd floor of the former Mary Brogan Museum, located at 300 W. Pensacola Street, Tallahassee, FL 32301) at 11:30 AM. Feel free to bring a brown bag lunch. The historical talk will begin promptly at noon!
