Historic Indian/Spanish Wedding at Mission San Luis c.1703

Presented by Theater with a Mission at Mission San Luis

Theater with a Mission invites you the historic wedding of a Spanish soldier groom, to his Native noble Bride in front of the beautiful thatched roof church at Mission San Luis. This joyous occasion is the highlight of a full day of festivities called Share the Love on February 12, 2017. Processions to the church begin at 1:45. Nuptials, dramatized from the Latin Matrimonial mass of 1698, begin at 2:00.  A fabulous fiesta on the plaza follows at 2:15, featuring food, songs, toasts, dances, and a one-act play by Cervantes -- all in Theater with a Mission's unique mixture of English peppered with the original Spanish.  The Fiesta ends with a romantic surprise that brings the play full circle at 3:00 p.m.  Admission to the day is FREE if you Like Mission San Luis on Facebook.  Some seating on benches is provided; please feel free to bring your own lawn chair or blanket.
