Fun and exciting!  Contra dance with live music by the Florida Mountaineers (from Jacksonville) and calling by Alice Raybourn (from Orlando).  All dances are taught before they are danced, and are prompted.  Contra dancing is a cousin to square dancing and shares much terminology with it.  We dance to live music with British, French and African origins -- in this case, old-time string band music.  Brief newcomer workshop at 7:15 pm.  Newcomers are always welcome.  We dance fairly simple dances early in the evening, and they get more complex as the evening goes on.
