Mindfulness Off the Cushion

Mindfulness Off the Cushion

Presented by Weaving Community - DChitt LLC at Shipley-Freeman Homestead

Escape the daily grind and connect with nature's rhythms at our unique Tallahassee farm retreat. Combine homesteading skills, mindfulness practices, weaving, and expert guidance for a weekend of relaxation and personal growth.

You'll connect with the land with a native plants walk with a local forester, see the gardens, and meet the farm animals. You'll learn and apply energy healing techniques, explore nourishing and detoxifying foods, and practice mindfulness through movement – all in a beautiful farm setting.

As part of the weekend, you'll receive a small frame loom and weaving instruction to use as a practice of entering into handmind - slowing your thinking by making with your hands.

What you'll do:

Get grounded with a guided nature walk Receive meditation instruction and engage the practices Discover energy healing and self massage techniques for wellbeing Learn to use poi balls as tools for energy work Practice mindfulness while engaged activities Enjoy gentle movement sessions for health and wellness Learn how to enter into handmind through simple practices like weaving Experience optional early morning farm activities And more!

Off the Cushion: A Unique Approach

Unlike traditional meditation retreats, our "off the cushion" approach blends mindfulness with hands-on activities. Learn to be present while engaging with the world around you – a powerful way to carry mindfulness into your everyday life.
