Nelson Mass

Nelson Mass

Presented by The Tallahassee Community Chorus at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall - Florida State University

We close our 36th concert season with F. Joseph Haydn’s “greatest single composition," Missa in Angustiis, or “Mass for Troubled Times.” The piece is most popularly known as the “Lord Nelson Mass,” for Lord Horatio Nelson, after the British defeat of Napoleon at the Battle of Nile. Also featured will be Haydn’s Te Deum, and The Chariot Jubilee, by 20th Century Canadian/American composer, R. Nathaniel Dett. Join us in the concert hall at 3:00pm for a special pre-concert talk with conductor, Dr. Michael Hanawalt! A livestream option is available for this performance at a special price for single ticket buyers.
