This much-anticipated event will feature "Ennanga" by African American Composer, William Grant Still for Harp and Orchestra, the debut and world premiere of "Strum" by Asian Composer, Ariel Sol. Strum, Composed specifically with Noel Wan's unparalleled skill and artistry in mind, "Strum" is a testament to the creative synergy between composer and performer. Noel Wan, celebrated for her passionate performances and technical brilliance, is the perfect ambassador for bringing "Strum" to life. Her ability to convey complex emotions and narratives through her instrument have enchanted audiences around the globe, making She was one of the most sought-after harpists of her generation. Performing with Tallahassee's most diverse orchestra, Javacya Elite Chamber Orchestra, which features prodigy youth performers, nationally recognized college musicians, and professionals like renowned guest Principal cellist and 2023-04 Artist-in-Residence at Javacya Arts Conservatory, Derick Menchan, FAMU music professors Dr. Shaylor James and Dr. Joanna Sobkowska.

"We are thrilled to host Noel Wan and to present the premiere of 'Strum' to our community," said the music directors Chris Garven (St. Peters) and Patrice Floyd (Javacya Art Conservatory." "This concert celebrates musical innovation and the profound connection between composer and performer." A special presentation of two short works by Javacya'a Young-Composers-In-Residence, Kenneth Hills, Jr., and Catherine Potts is also on the concert menu. The renowned professor and Director of the Chinese Music Ensemble, Haiqiong Deng will open the concert by playing the zheng — an ancient Chinese lap harp pronounced as  “schung”. We invite everyone to join us for what promises to be a memorable evening of beautiful music." The concert is free; however, donations to support the Javacya Arts Conservatory and its efforts to train under-resourced children will be received at the door and every day by donating in advance at javacyaarts.com. Additionally, a unique opportunity to contribute to the Javacya scholarship fund for under-resourced children will be provided at the concert.
