Come learn Juliann’s fun and playful hand building and glazing techniques using high temp wire for functional and decorative design elements in person!
Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced - students should have some experience and be comfortable working with clay
Juliann will discuss the use of high temp wire for functional and decorative design elements. Participants will hand build their own wall-hung puffy box (heart or round) with hinged door using Juliann's techniques with an emphasis on developing your design style. Juliann will also demo her glazing techniques and provide a bisque ornament for participant to glaze.
Juliann Roush is a self proclaimed maximalist. Most of her work is hand built with slabs and has a very distinct style using lots of texture and bright colors. Juliann finds inspiration from circuses, side-shows, fairs, elaborately decorated, hand-carved and ornately painted wagons/caravans, and old ornate Baroque theaters. Often her work has a positive encouraging message, giving a little insight into her cheerful personality and joy of making and sharing her methods. Juliann teaches at workshops around the country and has been a featured presenter at Clay Con West and The Ceramic School.
