Program exploring the connections between musical traditions & history at The Grove Museum
Join the staff of The Grove Museum as we discuss musical traditions of the African Diaspora in Florida and Tallahassee.
At 2:00 PM on February 24th, we will be joined by vocal performance students, accompanied by a keyboardist, from Florida State University and Florida A&M University. In honor of Black History Month and Tallahassee's Bicentennial, they will be performing adaptations of historical spirituals and works by Black composers such as Moses Hogan, Hall Johnson, William Grant Still, and Florence Price.
This event is free and open to the public. Parking is located at 902 N. Monroe Street.
