Like Dorothy, be transported to a magical world of Munchkins, witches, and a yellow brick road with the FAMU Essential Theatre production of “The Wiz”.
Adapted from the "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" novel by Frank L. Baum, "The Wiz" is a vibrant reimagining of the classic tale set in urban America. The story follows Dorothy, a young woman from Harlem, as she is whisked away to the magical land of Oz, encountering unique characters such as the Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Lion along the way. With catchy songs, dazzling choreography, and a contemporary twist, "The Wiz" celebrates friendship, self-discovery, and the power of home. Cheer for Dorothy and the others as they discover “everything you seek to find is already within you.”
Produced and performed by the FAMU Essential Theatre, this production will run from February 28th through March 3rd, 2024.
