Ron will lead the class through the galleries for inspiration from the exceptional exhibition, “Identity & Restraint: Art of the Dog Collar.”
Ron will guide participants through the gallery to learn the art of slowing down and becoming more intentional about capturing the elements of an artifact we admire! We will learn what questions to ask during the observation process, how to apply drawing skills using essential travel sketching materials, and how to achieve a more fulfilling experience when visiting museums and galleries close and far.
In this workshop, we will:
1. Identify the essential travel sketching materials
2. Learn how to apply observation techniques through the inquiry process
3. Demonstrate and apply drawing techniques to capture light and shadow on main forms
4. Learn the value and how to document the experience
All levels welcome, beginners to advanced.
*Ticket includes all supplies and materials for participants to take home after the workshop: Sketch pad, kneaded eraser, white China marker, mechanical sketch pencil with lead, white gel pen, portable gallery sketch board, reference sheet.
