Pastel painter, Barbara Noonan, will be our guest artist at an open house on Thursday, February 15 from 2 - 6 p.m.  Stop by for light refreshments and meet Barbara as she works on a new painting at her easel.   She will be glad to answer questions and share her personal insights as she paints.   Raffle tickets will be available to win her completed painting at the end of the afternoon.  All proceeds will benefit the Elder Care Community Council of Franklin County (ECCC) serving the needs of seniors in our area.

Barbara has been practicing her art for over twenty years and brings influences from the Pacific Northwest where she lives on Camano Island just north of Seattle. Every winter she spends several months on the coastal barrier St. George Island, just over the bridge from Apalachicola.  She walks the beach for miles daily in every kind of weather.... taking photographs and finding inspiration at every turn. Although she has worked in oils, watercolor and gouache, Barbara prefers soft pastel for the immediacy of the pigment and its saturation potential.  In her pastel paintings, she seeks to push the boundaries between abstract and interpretive landscape painting.

In addition to Live Oak Gallery, Barbara is represented by several galleries in and around the Seattle area, as well as in a number of public and private collections on the West Coast.  She enjoys sharing ideas with other art lovers, and is sought out for her private classes and workshops.
