Learn how to capture the perfect sunset with local landscape photographer Alex Armitage as part of Camp Folks’ Sunset Photography Workshop Series. This workshop is great for all skill levels, and you don’t need expensive equipment to participate. Alex will show you how to shoot a sunset over Tallahassee's most picturesque locations using your phone, manual or automatic camera, DSLR, or GoPro. You’ll learn about gear, composition, and lighting and exposure techniques.

Choose from the following locations:

September 14th: JR Alford Greenway - this workshop will specifically focus on foreground subject and framing, leading lines, and creating depth in a landscape with rolling hills.

September 24th: Lafayette Heritage Park - This workshop will specifically focus on how to use symmetry with water, defy the “rule of thirds,” and work with foreground subjects.

September 28th: Abandoned Asphalt Factory - This workshop will specifically focus on framing a building/object and capturing architecture and graffiti with ideal lighting.

Meet at Camp Folks in Railroad Square Art Park at 6pm for a short class, introducing you to the topics. From there, we’ll hop into the Adventure Mobile for the quick drive to locations, where we will set up for our sunset photoshoot. Once the sun goes down, we’ll head back to Camp Folks for our final goodbyes.

What to Bring:

• Phone or camera (anything to capture an image will do)
• Comfortable walking shoes
• Bug spray
• Flashlight
• Water/snacks
• Notepad/pencil
