Stroll through the downtown Tallahassee historic districts to admire and discuss the beautiful homes built there between 1840 and 1920.
This is a guided walking tour of the historic districts along Park Avenue, Gadsden, and Calhoun Streets highlighting the homes built during the two main economic booms in Tallahassee that led to residential development in the downtown area between 1840 and 1920. The tour will provide insight into architectural features of the houses, occupants of the homes, and their significance in the overall history of Tallahassee. At the end of the tour, we will have the opportunity to enter at the LeMoyne Art Center on Gadsden Street to see some of the interior features of this antebellum home. LeMoyne also has a small gift shop that will be open when we visit.
