Arts-In-The-Heart Concert Series 2023-2024 presents the Javacya Elite Chamber Orchestra in An Appreciation Concert To Say Thank You for 44 years. ~Tallahassee – The Javacya Elite Chamber Orchestra will perform an appreciation concert for supporters and new friends at 5:00 p.m. on October 25 at The Al Lawson Jr. Multipurpose Center. The event is free. About Javacya - Javacya Elite Chamber Orchestra is a zestful and electrifying chamber orchestra consisting of advancing youth, dynamic college students, and professional performers from around the United States. Led by Senior Conductor-Tubist Ralph Jean-Paul, Founder-Violinist Patrice Floyd, and guest conductors, it serves as the flagship performing component of the Javacya Arts Conservatory – one of the most ethnically balanced orchestras in the region, a voice for minority performers, and four decades of experience.It comprises artists who are predominantly Black, Indigenous and People of Color and championing that orchestras reflect the societies in which we live. Javacya Elite Chamber Orchestra is a catalyst for change and is committed to continuing the fight for minority inclusion in orchestras, opera companies, classical ballet, and the performing arts. Javacya is committed to providing an excellent platform for its performers and guest artists to soar with respect, dignity, honor, and appreciation.Audience members may look forward to fine music, great food, spending time with the leaders and orchestra members, and the opportunity to park at 400 W. Orange Avenue (FAMU DRS at 400 W. Orange Ave., Tall., FL-FAMU DRS) to ride a free shuttle to and from the Al Lason Multipurpose Center (1800 Wahnish Way, Tall., FL.). A community-based college preparatory music institute for students ages 3 to 18, Javacya exists to support student artists and professional classical Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in classical music through education and performance.
