Lili Forbes, 2023 Florida Folklife Artist-In-Residence, presents a night of music and culture from her native St. Maarten.
Join us at Mission San Luis for the 2023 Florida Folklife Artist-in-Residence Concert on October 13, 2023 from 7:30PM to 9PM! This year, we are honored to present Lili Forbes as the 2023 Artist-in-Residence. Lili is an incredibly talented musician, originally hailing from the island of St. Maarten. She will be showcasing several Carribean genres such as soca, calypso, string band, and more. Also appearing is special guest Edsel Eusebius, a string band musician and friend of Lili’s who is joining her from St. Maarten. This free concert is free and open to the public! The venue will open at 7PM before Lili and friends begin the concert at 7:30pm. Please advise that parking spots are limited at the Mission, but overflow parking is available on the grass. The brought to you by the Florida Folklife Program and Florida State University’s Center for Music of the Americas, the Artist-In-Residence series features Florida's outstanding traditional artists in residence in Tallahassee each fall. Residencies consist of free public performances, school presentations and master classes designed to bring folk and traditional arts into the classroom and to broader audiences.
