Learn about historic and modern gardening techniques and tools at Tallahassee’s only National Historic Landmark site.
Enjoy the morning with our Master Gardener learning about 17th- and 18th-century Apalachee and Spanish gardening techniques and tools -- as well as more modern ones. Workshop topics will include perennials, annuals, and fruit/flowering trees. Tour the Mission gardens (check on the strawberries, corn, beans, squash, watermelon, sweet potatoes, herbs, and more!), ID plants, and hear about the history of Spanish farming. End the day getting your hands dirty with some harvesting or planting and go away with practical knowledge you can use to create abundance in your own gardens!
Pre-registration is required and must be received by July 2. Call 850.245.6406. (Please bring gloves and a hat and wear gardening clothes. Don't forget sunscreen and bug spray if needed.)
