Arts-In-The-Heart Concert Series 2023 - Glacia Robinson with Javacya Elite Chamber Orchestra & Lililita Forbes

Presented by Javacya Arts Conservatory at Saint Peter's Anglican Cathedral

The Javacya Elite Chamber Orchestra performs on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 7:30 pm as we welcome back Jamaican award-winning gospel singer/songwriter Glacia Robinson as our featured guest. Special guest, award-winning Caribbean performing artist (and Tallahassee favorite), Lililita Forbes, will open the concert with powerful uplifting music.

She is a Caribbean Gospel Music Hall of Fame inductee who has received the prestigious Trail Blazer Award, and the Female Artist of the Year Award from the Caribbean Gospel Legends Music Awards.  Other awards include The Jamaica Federation of Musicians (JFM) Best Gospel Song – It’s Not Over Now and The Marlin Awards Rock/ Pop Song of the Year – Survivor. Glacia has worked closely with award-winning producers of Jamaica including Jon Williams, Alex Martin-Blanken, and Dennis Rushton. She has also worked with Roby Duke, Terry Clarke, Robert Varnadore, Mark Brown, Robert D. Watson (film and television composer), Carolee Mayne, Tommy Walker (Integrity Music), the renowned Eddie Perez, Maurice Gregory, Papa San, Grammy winners Beenie Man, Shaggy, Kanye West, and has performed with many other speakers and artists. Robinson partnered with Food For The Poor for The Celebration of Hope Gala, raising funds to provide 37 families who lived in mud and rubble with brand new homes. The charity also matched every dollar raised for the homes, providing 1.2 million lifesaving meals for families living in areas of Haiti’s southern peninsula devastated by the 2021 earthquake. In 2022 she received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from US President Joe Biden for her humanitarian efforts.

Singer, songwriter, teacher, and music minister Lililita (Lili) Forbes was born on the island of St. Maarten, Dutch Antilles. After graduating from Florida A&M University with a BS in Music Education and a Minor in Theater, she pursued a career both locally and internationally as a teacher, worship & creative arts director & vocal coach. Forbes served 7 years at Woodville Elementary and Middle school as a creative arts teacher. Professionally known by her stage name Lyrical Lynn, she has written, produced & released six albums for Jumelle, a duo act with her twin sister Ilismo, three of which received Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards.
