Learn to throw on the wheel at a beginner’s level with artist Laurel Blackthorne!
Designed for beginner level students with introductory level experience with the pottery wheel. We will focus on mastering the foundational skill of throwing clean, even cylinders and expand into new forms such as bowls and plates. Students will also work on refining their trimming skills to ensure a clean and functional finished pot. Each class meeting will have a specific focus and students can expect to complete 8-10 pieces. The class will include discussions of clay, glazes, and kilns that will give students a holistic understanding of ceramics. Repeatable until students feel confident moving to an intermediate level class.
Student work will be available for pick up 1-2 weeks after the end of the class.
Registration is available now via our website. We ask you register prior to the class as spots are limited.
