Special Tour of On the Steps of History: Florida Inaugurations led by exhibit curators at the Florida Historic Capitol Museum
Join the Historic Capitol Museum staff for a tour of the temporary exhibition On the Steps of History: Florida’s Inaugurations. This free monthly tour is available by reservation only on a first-come, first-serve basis and will last approximately one hour. Participation is capped at 13 guests and three total tours are offered - Friday, January 13; Friday, February 10; and Monday, March 6, 2023.
About the exhibition:
Florida’s next inaugural ceremony will take place on the Florida Historic Capitol Museum’s “steps of history” on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in January – January 3, 2023. In honor of this exciting time for our state, join us as we explore the significant moments of this important political tradition. Artifacts, photographs, and film footage from private and public collections will showcase the pomp and prestige of Florida’s historic inaugurations.

Florida Historic Capitol Museum

The Historic Capitol is located in the Capitol Complex, at the intersection of Apalachee Parkway and South Monroe Street. Although the museum does not have dedicated parking, there are several parking lots in the area. There is a large public parking garage in Kleman Plaza, close to the Capitol Complex. When the legislature is in session, parking can be especially challenging. Spaces for visitors with disabilities are located on west side of the House Office Building in the north side loading zone.
